Co-op Bank, Water.org convene WASH entrepreneurs to boost financing access

The Co-operative Bank of Kenya, in partnership with Water.org, has brought together entrepreneurs and key stakeholders in the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) sector for a business engagement forum at Mash Park in Dagoretti Corner.

The forum provided a platform for participants to strengthen partnerships, share ideas and explore innovative solutions aimed at expanding access to clean water and sanitation services across communities.

The engagement also focused on enhancing access to financing opportunities for WASH enterprises by improving project preparedness and fostering collaboration among financial institutions, development partners and sector players.

Co-operative Bank said the initiative is part of its commitment to supporting businesses and projects that contribute to sustainable development while addressing critical challenges in the water and sanitation sector.

Through the partnership with Water.org, the Bank seeks to empower entrepreneurs with the financial resources and technical support needed to scale up impactful WASH initiatives and improve service delivery.

Participants discussed strategies for strengthening the sector through increased investment, capacity building and closer stakeholder engagement, with the aim of accelerating access to safe water and improved sanitation.

The forum reaffirmed the importance of public-private partnerships in driving sustainable WASH solutions that improve public health, create economic opportunities and enhance the quality of life for communities across Kenya.
