Co-operative Bank of Kenya has given out Ksh300, 000 towards Mount Kenya Mountain Running Championship.

“A huge thank you to The Co-operative Bank for their generous contribution of Ksh 300,000 towards the Mt Kenya Mountain Running Championship.

“Your support has helped us promote sports and community development, and made this event a huge success. We are grateful for your,” the organisers of the event said in a statement.

The bank’s sponsorship of the championship came even as the bank continues to sponsor more students in high schools.

Last week, the bank’s CEO Gideon Muriuki said Co-operative Bank was keen to channel more funds into its education scholarship programme.

“We are focused on sustaining the programme in the long-term. Unless corporate institutions and everyone of goodwill, come together to support initiatives within the education sector, brilliant but needy Kenyans will never realise their full potential,” Muriuki said.
