The Co-operative Bank of Kenya has reinforced its commitment to supporting public institutions after funding the construction of a car shade facility in Murang’a County.
The initiative, unveiled during a recent event attended by bank officials and local stakeholders, is aimed at improving infrastructure and operational efficiency within security facilities in the region.
According to information shared by the bank, the project was spearheaded by its Central Kenya regional office under the leadership of Regional Manager Anne Kamuta. The newly installed car shade is expected to protect vehicles from harsh weather conditions, thereby enhancing their durability and readiness for service.
The development forms part of the lender’s broader corporate social responsibility programme, which focuses on strengthening community institutions and supporting government agencies. The bank has increasingly partnered with public sector entities, particularly in security and correctional services, through infrastructure support and asset financing initiatives.
Recent collaborations have also seen the bank play a role in enhancing mobility within the National Police Service through vehicle financing arrangements, underscoring its growing involvement in strengthening security operations across the country.
Local officials welcomed the project, noting that improved facilities contribute to better service delivery and operational efficiency. The provision of sheltered parking is particularly significant in preserving government assets and ensuring consistent service in areas prone to changing weather conditions.
The Murang’a project adds to a series of community-focused initiatives undertaken by Co-operative Bank, reflecting its continued investment in partnerships that drive social impact while supporting essential public services.
The bank said it remains committed to working closely with institutions across the country to deliver sustainable solutions that benefit both communities and frontline service providers.
