Police service commission names Peter Kiptanui as new CEO

The National Police Service Commission has appointed Peter Kiptanui Leley as CEO/ Commission Secretary.

He will serve for a period of five years with immediate effect on Wednesday, April 12, 2023.

Kiptanui’s naming was announced by NPSC chairperson Eliud Kinuthia on Wednesday.

He will take over Silas Opiyo, who was named the acting CEO on March 3, 2022.

Kiptanui was picked from a list of nine shortlisted candidates, who took part in interviews held on March 31, at the Kenya School of Government, Lower Kabete, Nairobi.

The others included Opiyo, Adhan Berhe, Christine Rotich, Janet Mucheru, Justa Kiura, Kennedy Mulunda, Nakitare Humphrey and Nura Huka.

The nine were selected from a list of 92 applicants from different regions in the country.
