Co-operative Bank of Kenya has engaged more than 400 Savings and Credit Co-operative Organisation (SACCO) leaders and industry stakeholders in a series of regional forums aimed at strengthening the co-operative movement and promoting financial inclusion.
The engagements, held over the past three weeks across the Nyanza, South Rift and Central regions, focused on innovation, digital transformation, financial inclusion and sustainable growth within the SACCO sector.
The Regional SACCO Leaders’ Forums provided a platform for participants to discuss strategies for improving member engagement, expanding service delivery and identifying new revenue-generating opportunities.
The discussions also explored how SACCOs can adapt to a changing financial services landscape by embracing technology and developing innovative solutions to meet the evolving needs of their members.
Co-operative Bank said strong co-operatives are essential to building wealthier communities and creating a more inclusive economy.
The bank reaffirmed its commitment to working with SACCO leaders and other industry stakeholders to strengthen the movement and support its long-term growth.
The forums form part of broader efforts to enhance collaboration within the co-operative sector, which plays an important role in mobilising savings, extending access to credit and supporting economic activities among members.
Through continued engagement and the adoption of innovative approaches, SACCOs have opportunities to improve operational efficiency, broaden their reach and create greater value for their members.
