The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced the appointment of Sharon J. Kisire as its new Vice Chairperson, effective 21st May 2026.

Kisire takes over the position following the completion of the tenure of Leila Ali Abdi.

In a post, the Commission welcomed her appointment and wished her success as she assumes the new role.

“Join us in wishing CS Sharon J. Kisire all the best in her new leadership role!” the TSC said in the post.

In her new role as Vice Chairperson, Kisire is expected to support the Chairperson in steering the Commission’s policy direction, overseeing strategic decision-making, and ensuring effective coordination of its constitutional mandate.

Kisire is not new to the commission.

She has served as a TSC Commissioner since 2021, having been one of five members nominated to the Commission by former President Uhuru Kenyatta, before her subsequent appointment.

With more than 20 years of experience in human resource management and organisational leadership, Kisire brings extensive expertise drawn from both the public and private sectors.

Over the years, she has held senior leadership positions in several major institutions.
