In a major boost for local financial services, Co-operative Bank of Kenya (Co-op Bank) has been named the “Best Bank in MSME Enablement” at the prestigious Visa Client and Partner Awards 2025. The accolade was announced at a ceremony held at the Ole Sereni Hotel in Nairobi, where banking and payment industry leaders from across the region gathered to celebrate innovation and excellence in financial services.

The award highlights Co-op Bank’s commitment to supporting Micro, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (MSMEs), a crucial segment of Kenya’s economy. With MSMEs accounting for a significant portion of employment and economic activity nationwide, enhanced banking solutions tailored to this sector are seen as vital for sustained growth.

During the awards event, Co-op Bank’s team was joined by representatives from Visa East Africa, underlining the collaborative effort between financial institutions and global payment partners to expand access to affordable and innovative financial tools. The award underscores the bank’s progress in enabling MSMEs to access credit, digital payment platforms, and business banking services that help drive entrepreneurship and scaling.
