The Co-operative Bank of Kenya is hosting a meeting of National Cooperatives Chief Executive Officers drawn from across the country.
The meeting happening in Mombasa was opened by Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Cooperatives and MSME Development, Hon. Simon Chelugui.
“The Co-op Bank organized meeting brings together Cooperative leaders from across the country to discuss matters of mutual interest,” the bank said in a statement.
The meeting comes weeks after the lender inked a Ksh3.4 billion deal with a German bank to give loans to businesses owned by women.
“Co-op Bank will use these funds to set up a credit line intended exclusively for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) that are managed or owned by women,” said both the fund and bank in a joint statement.
