“Today, the government has dismissed an assistant chief in Samburu and he will be arrested today,” he said.

The CS said the assistant administrative officer will be arraigned in court on Monday.

He said that the arrest is the first step in the accountability of public officials in the fight against banditry in the country.

The CS said that soon, the government will arrest more people including politicians and police officers.

Kindiki said that anyone supporting bandits and cattle rustlers will not be spared.

“Anyone supporting the murder of innocent people your days are numbered, we are going to get you arrested and prosecuted whoever you are. Even if you are my friend and you are among those supporting the killings witnessed and livestock theft I will get you arrested,” he said.

Kindiki said the government will upscale accountability and tighten measures in the fight against banditry.
