Cabinet Secretary nominee for National Treasury and Planning Njuguna Ndung’u has revealed he has a net worth of Sh950 million.
Ndung’u made the revelation on Tuesday when he appeared before the National Assembly Committee on appointments for vetting.
“I’m currently earning in dollars but its translated into Sh950 million,” he said
He also stated that he was currently salaried under the Africa Economic Research Consortium, but said his anticipated earning would be gratuity once his contract comes to an end.
Ndung’u previously served as CBK governor for a two four-year term between 2007 and 2015. He was succeeded by Dr. Patrick Njoroge.
He has been accredited for facilitating the entry of mobile-money in Kenya’s financial sector despite opposition from commercial banks a move that has enhanced financial access in the country.
