How parents can conveniently pay school fees through Co-op Bank

The Co-operative Bank of Kenya has put in place all mechanisms to ensure that as schools open, parents are able to conveniently pay schools for their kids without any stress. The bank has various avenues to make sure that this happens.

The bank has in all seasons kept parents at heart in a number of ways. They ensure that parents are saved from the stress of struggling to get funds to pay for their children’s school fees and shopping.

The bank has also ensured that there is total convenience in school fees payments and when shopping for children going back to school through a number of platforms including the Co-op Visa Cards, MCo-op Cash, M-Pesa PayBill, and Co-op kwa Jirani agents.

Co-op Visa Cards

With Co-op Visa Cards, parents are able to pay for school fees and shopping at no extra cost.  At this time, Co-op bank has ensured that parents pay directly without having to go and withdraw cash.  Co-op Visa Cards save time and there are no extra charges when paying for goods and services.

Are you a Co-operative Bank of Kenya customer? Do you have a Co-op Visa card? Well, that card is your ticket to saving some transactional costs. For instance, did you know that paying for your products using Co-op Visa Card is absolutely free? There is no extra charge but you only pay the amount of the product or service purchased.

Co-op Visa Card comes with various advantages including safety for your cash. With Co-op Visa Card, you do not have to walk around with liquid cash. You do not have to worry about thieves anymore. The card is also convenient to carry and move around with it.

MCo-op Cash

Sending cash using MCo-op cash to MCo-op cash is free and. This makes it easy and convenient when paying for school fees especially in schools that have already integrated into the platform. With MCo-op

Co-op Bank has also ensured that parents who do not have enough cash for school fees are catered for as they can easily access loans from MCo-op Cash. The good thing about these loans is that their interest rate is the lowest in the market at only 1.16 percent per month. There are no facilitation fees on MCo-op Cash loans nor any hidden fee.

Parents and students can also use Mco-op cash to send school fees into a Co-op account or to a Sacco Account, which reflects into the account immediately. Downloading the MCo-op Cash app makes work even easier as parents are able to withdraw funds from their Co-op accounts via MCo-op cash from a Co-op kwa Jirani agents or Co-op ATM. Checking of the account balance can also be done through MCo-op Cash.

Co-op Kwa Jirani Agents

Remember when one had to go all the way to the Co-op Banking hall for transactions? That has been done away with as it is not necessary anymore.

Co-op kwa Jirani, which is an Agency-Banking service of the Co-operative Bank of Kenya, brings all the services you would require from the banking halls next to your doorstep. You do not need to go to a bank miles away to get banking services.

With Co-op kwa Jirani Agents all across the country, services are offered just the same way as the banks do. Deposits and withdrawals are all done at any Co-op kwa Jirani agent and they operate even on Sundays and public holidays when bank branches have closed.

Parents also have another option of paying school fees via Mpesa. The paybill number to be used is 400222.

All you need is a phone with a Safaricom Mpesa enabled Sim card, go to paybill option and pay school fees.

Below is a breakdown of the process of paying school fees using Pay Bill number is 400222

  1. From the phone menu, go to M-PESA Menu and select Pay Bill.
  2. Dial Co-op bank’s pay bill number 400222 as the business number
  3. Enter the school’s code as the account number and add # then dial the student’s school admission number.
  4. Enter the number of school fees to be paid
  5. Enter your M-PESA pin, and confirm the transaction.
