The conversations at this year’s KISM Health Supply Chain Conference have highlighted the critical role of strong supply chains in building resilient healthcare systems.
The conference, held last week at Lake Naivasha Resort, brought together stakeholders to discuss challenges and opportunities in Kenya’s health supply chain, including the need for reliable access to medicines, medical equipment and other essential supplies.
Co-operative Bank of Kenya said the discussions reinforced the importance of strengthening the financial systems that support healthcare supply chains.
As a financial partner to businesses and institutions in the sector, the bank said it remains committed to providing solutions that can help healthcare players meet their financing needs, including the acquisition of inventory and equipment.
The bank noted that access to appropriate financing can enable healthcare providers and other players in the supply chain to maintain adequate stocks, invest in equipment and sustain their operations.
The conference also provided an opportunity for industry stakeholders to exchange experiences and explore practical approaches to improving efficiency across the health supply chain.
Co-op Bank’s participation reflects its broader focus on engaging customers and sector players to understand their operational realities and develop financial solutions aligned with their needs.
With healthcare providers facing the need to balance quality service delivery with the cost of maintaining inventory, equipment and other operational requirements, access to suitable financial solutions remains an important component of a functional health supply chain.
The bank said it will continue working with players in the healthcare sector to support investments that strengthen supply chains and contribute to more sustainable healthcare delivery.
