The Co-operative Bank of Kenya has reaffirmed its commitment to expanding access to education after awarding scholarships to deserving students through the Co-op Bank Foundation.

The scholarships were presented by the bank’s Company Secretary, Samuel Kibugi, on behalf of the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Gideon Muriuki.

The ceremony was attended by the Head of Co-op Bank Foundation, Nicholas Shiateya, and the Foundation’s Programmes and Projects Manager, Betty Maina, who joined in celebrating the beneficiaries.

The scholarship programme is part of the bank’s long-running investment in education, aimed at supporting academically gifted but financially disadvantaged students to complete their studies. Through the initiative, beneficiaries receive financial support that enables them to pursue their education without the burden of school fees.

Speaking during the presentation, bank officials reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to nurturing future leaders by investing in quality education and creating opportunities for young people to achieve their full potential.

The Co-op Bank Foundation has, over the years, supported thousands of students across the country through scholarships and mentorship programmes, underscoring the bank’s broader commitment to social and economic development through education.
