How to transfer money from M-pesa to Co-op Bank account and vice versa

Transferring money from bank accounts to mobile money wallets like M-PESA can be described as quite easy depending on the apps and USSDs they provide.

But it is quite surprising how much not many know how to do the reverse. The Cooperative Bank has made it possible for customers to send money to their Co-operative bank accounts using Mpesa at the comfort of their homes.

This feature also allows you to send money to any Cooperative bank account by simply transferring your money from Mpesa to any bank account.

To be able to use this feature, you must have a Cooperative bank account you wish to transfer the funds to, and you should also have enough funds in your Mpesa wallet before you can send the money to the account.

How to deposit money to your Cooperative bank account from Mpesa

1. Go to M-Pesa menu on your phone, select “Lipa na M-Pesa”

1. Select “PayBill”
2. Select “Enter business no.”
3. Enter the400200 as the Co-operative Bank business no and press “OK”
4. Enter the Co-operative Bank account number you are transferring money to and press “OK”
5. Enter amount i.e., amount you want to deposit and press “OK”
6. Enter your PIN and press “OK”
7. Confirm all the details are correct and press “OK”
8. You will receive a verification window where you have 1 minute to verify that the details are correct, if correct, dismiss or ignore, if wrong, enter the number 1 and press OK to cancel the transaction
9. You will receive a confirmation SMS from M-Pesa immediately.
10. Co-operative Bank will then send you a confirmation SMS shortly.

You can also send your funds to your Cooperative bank account using the short USSD code option. To do so. Dial *667# on your Mobile phone and select the send money from your Mpesa option. You will be able to transfer funds to your account from Mpesa immediately.

How To Withdraw Cash From Coop Bank To M-PESA Via USSD

1. Dial *667#
2. You will have to register for the service first, and then you will receive a menu.
3. Choose the mobile money option.
4. Select the M-Pesa option.
5. Enter the Mobile Number you wish to transfer money to.
6. Enter your co-operative account you want to withdraw from.
7. Enter the amount you want to withdraw.
8. Confirm the details.
9. Click Ok and the money will be successfully transferred.
