A woman has been arraigned in court for allegedly squandering over Sh18 million from her employer.

Jeannette Whitney Orom, 30, is facing theft by servant charges for allegedly stealing millions of shillings belonging to Toyota Thusho Fertilizer firm in Nairobi.

According to prosecution, the accused was tasked with coordinating field events for the marketing and the sale of new fertilizer countrywide.

The court heard that the money was allocated and transferred into her account for the task.

She is alleged to have withdrawn the money and issued fake receipts.

Oromo denied the charges and was released on a Sh2 million bond. The case will be heard on May 28, 2019.
