Over 2, 000 residents of an estate in Mavoko, Machakos County have raised concerns on what they termed as a dysfunctional sewerage treatment plant.

The Valley View estate residents located along the Nairobi – Mombasa highway in the outskirts of Mlolongo town said their pleas with relevant authorities to have the plant located within the estate fixed for the last four years had landed deaf ears.

The members of the Valley View Residents Association want the sewerage plant repaired by the County Government of Machakos before the anticipated El Nino rains. The plant is managed by a local water and sewerage company belonging to the devolved administration.
